Today Hampden is experiencing a great period of revival and upward development. Since the early 1990s residents and business owners have been the catylist to the neighborhood's current thriving renewal. Many tourists and visitors now travel the area for pub dining, fine dining and antique shopping. Houses are now in greater demand in Hampden and many are being renovated and restored. Bus lines and the Light Rail have helped open up Hampden for both residents and visitors. The majority of commerce conducted in Hampden began along West 36th Street also known as "The Avenue" but has now expanded just below West 36th Street, to Union Avenue, Clipper Mill Road and Clipper Road.
The Mill Steakhouse Tavern, established in 2010 by two owners who set out to give Hampden something its never had, a Steakhoouse. This restaurant was designed to bring back some of the History to the Hampden area. In fact, part of the building was a portion of the Hampden/Woodberry Mills at one time. The Mill is known for their delicious prime rib and several other different cuts of steaks. Let's not forget their delicious crab cakes, scallops and fish. With a wide variety of items to choose from, bring in the family, have a seat in our dining room and let us take care of you.
We would like nothing more than for you to become part of our growing family. Our house is yours and putting smiles on people's faces is what pleases us the most.
